Artist Statement

Evo Media is an organization that has broken away from the clutches of the corporate structure. It is a company that has given birth to a new methodology of business that works within a "circle of trust".

Evo Media's founder, Andre Mckenzie, started the company during his last year of post-secondary school. As he freelanced, his clientele rapidly grew and other designers were needed to fulfill client's needs. These designers were close and trusted friends, who were the best at what they did and believed in Andre's methodologies of business.

As more designers were hired, Andre took a step back and envisioned what would happen if a corporate hierarchy was started. Work would be delegated to each designer. With a new idealology in mind, Andre set out to develop what we call a latrearchy (lateral hierarchy). This meant that each individual was not "hired" as an employee of Evo Media, but rather, added to a roster of designers who all worked for themselves under this company name. This means that each designer remains free to find their own clientele.
